The contract was signed by Hon. Dr. Tulia Ackson, Director and Chairperson of the Board of the Commonwealth Investment Company Limited (CICL), and Mr. Lu Chunbao, a representative of the contractor from CRJE (East Africa) Limited.

Speaking after the signing, Hon. Dr. Tulia expressed gratitude to the Government, through the Regional Commissioner, for providing land and all the necessary permits for the hotels construction at Njedengwa in Dodoma City, Tanzania.

This first five-star hotel in Dodoma aligns with the Government plan to complete the International Airport, meaning many visitors will arrive and stay at this hotel, including guests coming to meet with Her Excellency President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, she said.

She emphasized that the contractors must complete the work within the 22-month timeframe agreed upon in the contract.

She also acknowledged the contribution of the late Job Ndugai, Former Speaker and retired Chairperson of the CICL Board, in initiating the construction of the hotel.

She said that as Chair of the CICL Board, he was the one who advocated for the establishment of this investment project in Tanzania, the headquarters of the CPA Africa Region.

She also extended gratitude to CRDB Bank for agreeing to participate in financing the hotel construction.

For his part, Hon. Enos Asiimwe, Treasurer of the CPA Africa Region and Member of Parliament from Uganda, said this hotel is the first project to be implemented by the association, and they are hopeful it will be highly successful.

He expressed confidence that CRJE would deliver the project on time without disappointing them.

Earlier, Mr. Baraka Leonard, Clerk of the Parliament and also Secretary of CICL, thanked all participants of the signing ceremony, noting that the hotel project would leave a lasting mark within CPA, strengthen the association, and increase its revenue.
